뻔한 줄만 알았던 길거리의 전단지와 명함 위에 쓰인 텍스트와 이미지는 우스꽝스럽게 말을 건다.
각 프로젝트는 버내큘러한 전단지 아카이브를 바탕으로 새로운 이미지, 새로운 스크립트, 새로운 맥락을 만들어 낸다.

Flyers on the street are thought to be boring obviously, but the image and text initiate a conversation in ridiculous, absurd way.
Each projects based on the vernacular flyer archive makes very new image, new script and new context.

저는 중국유학생이며 한국에 온지 5년 가량 됐습니다.
처음에 한국말을 한마디도 모르는 수준이었지만 지금까지 5년정도를 지내보니 한국의 역사와 문화를 많이 알게 되었습니다.
이번 졸업전시 작품은 나 자신과 한국의 역사적인 인물, 그리고 역사적인 건물들의 만남을 상징합니다.
이순신 장군과 인사하고, 세종대왕과 악수하며 광화문 앞에서 한국 고대 왕조를 느끼는 일련의 행위를 통해,
한국의 역사를 충분히 알게된 의미있는 작업이라고 할 수 있습니다.

노래방만이 가진 특수한 시스템을 바탕으로 노래방을 구성하는 요소들이 만들어진다.
책부터 영상, 그래픽, 사운드, 유저 인터페이스, 인터렉티브까지…
이렇게 모아놓고 보니 이것들의 조합이 하나의 국가 같다고 생각했다.
그래서 난 ‘노래민국’이라는 국가를 만들었다.

Korean Karaoke is an interesting place.
Everything in there is created based on the Karaoke’s unique system.
Song list books, moving images on screens, sound from speakers, user-interface, and interactive designs…
I thought that I can make a country from the elements,
so I created republic of Karaoke.

어린 꽃끼리는 작은 꽃봉오리가 맺혔다.
늘 맑고 파란 하늘만 좋아하는 꽃끼리. 비를 맞으면 꽃이 다 죽어 버릴까봐 늘 걱정이다.
그러나 우기가 시작되고 흐린 날만 계속되자 맑은 하늘의 파랑을 볼 수 없게 된 어린 꽃끼리는
다른 파랑들을 찾으러 떠난다.
바깥 세상에서 여러가지 재미있는 파랑들을 만나고 결국 아름답게 꽃이 피기 위해서는 비도 맞고
힘들고 어려운 시련도 겪어내야 한다는 것을 깨닫게 된다.

There is a little kkokkiri with a little bud.
kkokkiri loves only blue sky, because he always worried about that if his flower would wither
when rain drops come down to his head.
As cloudy days have continued since rainy season began, little Kkokkiri who can’t see blue sky anymore
starts journey to find other blue things.
He faces various kinds of interesting blue things outside and eventually he realizes
getting wet by rain and going through difficalties are inevitable in order to bloom his beautiful flower.

유교 국가 조선에서 ‘중심’은 사상적으로 중요한 개념이었으며,
경복궁은 한 나라의 중심이었다.
이 때의 중심은 ‘경복궁’의 외부 요소와 관계에 의한 ‘중심’으로,
풍수지리나 유교 사상과도 연관성을 맺고 있다.
이런 ‘경복궁’과 그 주변 요소들의 조합을 하나의 소우주라 생각하고,
과거 조상들의 세계관을 그릇에 담아본다.

기억을 떠올려 오늘을 기록하고, 내일을 새긴다.

나의 의도 아래 지난 기억을 더듬어 이야기를 만들어 간다면
그 지향점이 아무리 사실에 입각한 채 진실을 향해있다 하여도
그 변형의 폭이 크다면 왜곡의 위험도 같이 커질 수밖에 없다.
그렇다고 다큐멘터리식의 이야기가 진실하고,
허구는 항상 그것보다 거짓이라고 치부하는 것도 옳지 않다.
왜냐하면 사실이라 말하는 정보는 변함의 여지가 충분한 기억에
의존한 것이기 때문이다.

결국, 어떤 이야기 방식을 택하든 절대적인 사실은 없으며,
현재 가지고 있는 기억들도 모두 사실이라는 보장이 없다는 것이다.

나는 지금 내가 기억하고 있는 정보들에 주목한다.
그것은 사실일 수도 있고 이미 원래의 사실과는 거리가 멀어진
변형된(편집된) 기억일 수도 있다.
본래의 사건에 기인한 현재의 기억이라는 정보에 다시 한번 주목하고,
이것들이 재가공(재편집)되어가는 과정을 시각화하고자 한다.

고려인 Koryo Saram (The Korean Diaspora in Central Asia)

그들은 한국어를 거의 잊어버렸습니다.
젓가락질도 못하고, 빵과 차를 밥보다 자주 먹습니다.
한국 땅을 밟아본 적도 없는 사람들이 대부분입니다.

그러나 그들은 한국의 명절을 지키기 위해 애쓰고,
한국의 요리나 놀이 등 한국의 전통을 기억하려고 노력합니다.
무엇보다도 그들에게는 한국인의 피가 흐르고 있습니다.

그들은 “고려인”입니다.

They’ve almost forgotten how to speak Korean.
They also couldn’t use chopsticks well and eat bread and black-tea more often than rice.
Most of them have never been in Korea.

However, they try to keep Korean holidays and
to remember Korean tradition such as Korean traditional dishes or games.
Above all, they are descendants of Korean.

They are “Koryo-Saram.”

그 음악과 춤 안에 인생의 희노애락을 담고 있다.

‘Four legs and one heart’ is a word representing Argentine tango.
Tango contains every ups and downs in the life within its music and dance.

flower in the kitchen을 부제로 하여 개별 소스의 원재료를 반복, 중첩시켜
꽃을 형상화하여 ’주방을 꽃피우다’라는 컨셉을 담고 있다.

THE RECIPE is a premium brand for basic Korean sauces
such as red pepper paste, ssam-jang, soybean paste, and sesame oil.
These lables using the original graphics of food materials may remind you of a kind of flowers
which also means the concept of brand, “Bloom the kitchen.”

디자이너가 한 미디어에 머무는 시대는 막을 내렸다.
앞으로의 디자이너는 다양한 미디어를 넘나들고 혼합하는 사람이 될 것이다.
2010 졸업전시회 포스터의 주제는 <미디어의 혼합>이다.

미디어와 관련된 그래픽 소스를 수집하고, 이를 조합해 졸업전시의 포스터를 만들었다.
그렇게 완성된 포스터의 매체를 전환해 영상과 책 등으로 다시 표현했다.

A period that the designers cover only one type of media is over.
The designers of a new era will manage all kinds of media and mix each other.

The title of the ’2010 graduate exhibition’ is .

First, I collected graphic sources for media and mixed them to make the exhibition poster.
And secondly, I convert(change) the final poster to the new types of media like motiongraphic and book.
Finally, graphic sources from usual media mix each other and expressed in the poster, and turn into a new media again.
it’s a mixture of media.

그래프의 숨겨진 이면을 읽다
Read the hidden side of graph

그래프는 어려운 숫자들로 이루어진 데이터를 보기 쉽고 편하게 만들어주는 힘이 있지만,
그래프의 형태에 따라 같은 데이터도 전혀 다르게 인식될 수 있다는 이면이 존재한다.
그래프는 보는 것 만으로는 부족한 이미지다. 그래프는 읽어야 하는 이미지다.
‘현실 위에 얹어진 또 다른 면’이라는 메타포를 공유하는 증강현실을 이용하여
그래프의 이면에 관한 사례, 그리고 이면을 읽어내는 방법을 이야기한다.

It is commonly known that the Graph helps us translate complicated numbers into the diagram which is easily understandable.
By the way, such fact tells us whether the data is easily understandable or not depends on how the graph looks.
In fact it isn’t easy to understand what the graph’s trying to say just by ‘looking at it’.
In other words, the Graph needs to be ‘read’ instead of just ‘looked at’.
I’ve tried to share an idea about several cases of the graph’s hidden sides, and tips for finding them out.
For the method of explanation, I’ve chosen Augment Reality, which is regarded as the stratum covering up the reality.

2010 Graduate Exhibition Brochure

졸업전시회의 키오스크. 전시장의 입구에 위치하며 전시회를 찾는 관객들의 네비게이션 역활을 한다.
기존 전시회의 도록과 가장 큰 다른 점은 작품의 정보 외에, 작가의 정보도 담고 있음이다.
졸업 전시회라는 취지에 걸맞게 학생들의 개인 정보에도 관심이 많은 관객들을 위한 서비스이다.
동시에 졸업을 하며 사회로 나갈 준비를 하는 학생들 입장에서는, 자신을 관객들에게 홍보할 수 있는 기회이기도 하다.

A kiosk of graduation exhibition.
This kiosk, located at entrance of exhibition, functions as a navigation for audience.
It is the content for distinguishing this kiosk from the others. It contains not only information of each work, but those of each student.
As a purpose of graduation exhibition, it is a service for some audience who show interests in students’ profiles.
And for students, who will take first step into “the real field work” with graduating university, it would be a chance to promote themselves to audience.

Gynecologist

열심히 노력한 결과, 그 사람은 의사가 되었다.
의사가 되는 것은 그의 꿈이었다.
그는 부푼 기대감과 열정을 가지고 진료를 시작한다.
하지만 현실은 꿈이 아니었다.
현실 앞에서 그의 열정은 사라져간다.
그렇지만 그는 오늘도 계속해서 진료를 한다.
다른 이유가 있기 때문이다.

그것이 우리의 삶이다.

He exerted great efforts to become a doctor, and he did.
Being a doctor was his dream.
He started to give medical treatment to patients with a feeling of high expectancy and passion.
But the reality was far different from his dream.
Even so, he’s still giving medical treatments to his patients because of the reason.

That’s our life.

Noise fermenter는 소음을 아름다운 소리로 발효시킨 인터렉티브 사운드 작품이다.
녹음된 12가지의 소음들은 옹기속에 담겨져 뚜껑을 열면 재생이 되고
선택되어진 3가지의 옹기를 발효기에 넣어 발효시킴으로써 새로운 형태로 재조합된다.
조합된 소음은 구체적 근거를 바탕으로한 정보디자인 개념으로 시각화되어 사운드와 함께 재생된다.

한국에서 IMF라는 이름은 경제적 위기와 공포를 뜻한다.
1997년 10월에 시작된 외환위기와 그로 인해 찾아온 1997년 12월 3일부터 2001년 8월 23일까지의 IMF관리체제,
그리고 이 시간을 가득 채운 불경기, 부도, 대량해고, 생존위기와 같은 단어들 때문이다.
한국은 그 어느 나라보다도 빠르게 회복하여 IMF체제를 조기 졸업하며 또 하나의 신화를 쓰는 듯 했지만,
정작 IMF가 무엇인지, 이른바 IMF시대 동안 무슨일이 일어난 것인지 제대로 돌아보지 못했다.
이를 살펴보기 위해 IMF와 한국의 IMF시대에 대한 상반되는 두 가지 시선을 보여주는 두 개의 애니메이션을 만들었다.
그리고 이를 인터레이스 방식을 통해 하나의 화면으로 합쳤다.
관람자는 이 화면 앞에서 적청안경과 이어폰을 쓰고 시선을 선택해야 한다.
왼쪽 눈으로 볼 것인가, 오른쪽 눈을 뜰 것인가. 선택에 따라 전혀 다른 이야기를 듣고 보게 된다.
In South Korea, the word ‘IMF’ means economic crisis and fear (rather than the organization of the world),
because of the painful memories of financial crisis in September 1997 and the severe control of IMF from 1997-2001.
After the crisis, South Korea recovered rapidly and finished the IMF control system earlier than any other countries.
However, Korean didn’t have the chance to look back the time and think about what IMF really meant.
To make people understand IMF and their policy,
I made two animations show two conflicting opinions and combine them into one screen by ‘interlace method’.
Spectators should put on ‘red-cyan glasses(a kind of 3D glasses)’ and earphones,
then they should choose one point of view – left eye and ear, or right eye and ear.
According to choice, they will see and hear completely different story about IMF.

우리는 우리가 보는 것들을 너무나 쉽고 당연하게 받아들이지만
사실 세상에는 우리가 결코 볼 수 없는 많은 것들이 숨겨져 있다.

이 작품을 통해 동물들의 눈을 빌려서나마 세상의 숨겨진 모습들을 찾아보고 싶었다.
다른 시각기준, 다른 시점에서 살펴보는 숨겨진 세상에 대한 이야기.
이 작품이 세상을 좀 더 다르게 바라볼 수 있는 작은 기회가 되기를 바란다.

We are able to easily accept objects we see but in the world,
there are many things that are not perceivable.

Through this work, I wanted to find the hidden treasures of
this world through the eyes of the animal.
The story of the hidden world from different standard of vision and
point of view – I want this work to lead to observe the world differently.

이 작업은 질적 정보를 양적 정보로 변환하여 시각화하는 과정에서 정보 간의 새로운 관계를 찾으려는 시도로 시작되었다.
대표적인 질적 정보 중 하나인 ‘책’ 중에서, 국내외로 널리 알려진 애거서 크리스티의 추리소설 10권을 분석해봄으로써,
이야기 속 정보들의 관계를 파악할 수 있다.

I started this project in hopes to find a relationship between the outcomes of the information
during the process of visually transforming qualitative information to a quantitive one.
An example that best represents qualitative information is the book; through analyzing Christie’s 10 best novels,
we are able to derive different relationships between information within her books.

There lives all kinds of animals and plants more than 30% of the whole world in Amazon.
It could be compared to human lungs. It supplies 25% oxygen as a great sieve by filtering carbon dioxide that human makes.

But today, it has been damaged extensively by cutting and logging its trees in the age of Capitalism. According to this situation,
the nature has been destroyed and the Native African cannot settle in Amazon no more longer.

“Dear. Amazon” will ask you ‘What are you able to do for the Amazon?’
and shows you two ways of returning what we’ve got from the Amazon.

하지만 우주는 아직 숨쉬고 있고 우리는 살아간다.

The sun and the moon rise, stars fall on a board.
The pieces on the board are not alive but they can move eventhough their movement seems uneasy.
Contrary to our belief, life flows not so smoothly. It creaks and is stuck unexpectedly.
However we are still breathing and we are making our lives as the universe keeps going on.

이것은 공포에 관한 이야기이며 보다 정확히 말하자면,
‘인간이 어떠한 공간 안에 홀로 있을 때, 느껴지는 공포감을 피하기 위한 방어기제와도 같은 행동습관’
을 약간의 연출을 통해 기록한 작업이다.
(예를 들어 본인의 경우는 어떠한 공간 안에 있으면 벽에 등을 붙이고 있어야만 공포심이 사라진다)

이러한 공포에 대한 행동 반응은 비 학습적이며, 인간에게 내재된 본능적인 행동이라고 볼 수 있는데,
나이가 들어갈 수록 사회적인 위치, 이성적인 판단, 오래된 경험 등을 통해 그러한 본능적인 행동의
농도가 옅어지지만, 결코 사라지지 않는 하나의 습관으로 자리 잡는다.

Even though they do something with someone who is close, they want to remember their own way to.
And if the place that appear plainly different lifestyle and memories is unconscious dreams,

They also makes robot that like more human. What was worse, they tring human cloning.

생명이 끊어지는 것. 끊는 것. 끊김을 당하는 것.
이 작업에서 ‘죽음의 행위’는 어떤 의미를 가질까?
억압에 대한 복수가 될 수도 있고, 나의 분신을 해방시키는 방법일 수도 있다.

가족에 관한 이야기는 누구에게나 지극히 개인적이고도 소중한 소재다.
다시는 떠올리고 싶지 않은 끔직한 유년기를 보냈든, 일일드라마에서나
볼법한 유복한 생활을 했든 가족사는 자아 형성의 근원지일 수밖에 없다.
물론 수많은 유형의 삶들이 존재하기 때문에 자신에게 특별한 가족의
경험이 타인의 시선에 그저 평범해 보일 수도 있다.
그럼에도 불구하고 많은 작가들은 여전히 이 민감한 이야기의 고백을
통해 내면의 상처를 치유하는 작업을 하고 있다.
나도 대부분의 사람들과 마찬가지로 평균적인 삶을 살아왔다.
다만, 이 순간 나의 정체성을 구성하는, 또는 억누르는 어떤 소재를 찾자면
그것은 바로 ‘어머니의 과도한 사랑’일 것이다. 그래서 어머니가 아끼시던
작은 물고기를 가지고 나를 투영 시키면서 작업을 해봐야겠다고 생각했다.
이 작업을 통해 무슨 말을 하고 싶은지, 표현은 어떻게 할지에 대해서는
구체적으로 정해두지 않았다. 머릿속을 비우고 즉흥적으로 원하는 자극을 따라갔다.
물고기에 줄을 매거나 납작하게 눌러버리는 일, 거기서 얻는 약간의 쾌감은 분명
치밀한 의도와 밑그림이 수반되어야 하겠지만 우선은 진행하기로 했다.

싱그럽고 순수한 마음, 때론 반항에 가까운 열정을 품고,

세상을 지나칠 정도로 아름답게 보다가도 마음껏 울며 욕할 수 있는 시기.
학창시절은 그 단어의 느낌에서부터 우리에게 아름다운 추억의 이미지를 강요한다.
그러나 당신의 학창시절은 어떠했는가. 과연 우리는 우리의 봄날에 아름다운 꽃을 피웠나.

나의 학창시절에 관한 개인적인 이야기이기도 하지만 빼앗긴 우리들의 청춘에 관한 이야기이다.
하늘을 올려다보는 대신 하늘색 페인트가 지저분하게 벗겨져가는 벽에 둘러싸여 있었다.
시를 읽고 감상에 젖어 서로 이야기를 나누는 대신 선생님이 읊어주는 시구의 해석을 달달 외웠다.
자유, 소통, 낭만, 동경이 간절한 시기이지만 그 어느 것도 허락되지 않는다.
나는 그렇게 청춘을 잃어버렸다.
아름다움에 예민해져 가야 할 시기에 학교는 우리를 둔감하게 만들기 위해 애썼고,
아이들은 더 이상 땡땡이도 치지 않았다. 그저 책상에 엎드려 꿈 없는 잠에 익숙해져 간다.

Therefore, they rise into sky, hoping for the safe and fresh haven up there. As time goes by,
a gigantic layer of the fish forms between the air and the earth.

우리주변에서 그들만의 방식으로 살아가고 있다는 내용의 시리즈이다.
‘땅콩’은 ‘심심풀이 땅콩’이라는 말에서 따온 것으로 우리가 사소하게 생각하는 것들도
그 나름대로 가치있는 것이라는 뜻을 담아 캐릭터의 이름을 붙였다.
상상해보라. 땅콩들이 그들만의 삶을 즐기며 바로 당신 옆에 있을지도 모른다.

This series is a story about the characters created in people’s imagination are alive
around us and living a life in their own way.
The name of character ‘peaunts” is quoted from the korean expression “Peanut for killing time”.
In this expression the peanut means something treated as trifles, easily passed over by people.
but just think about it. peanuts have their own value,they might enjoy their life and have fun just next you.

계층별 캐릭터의 상황과 행동들을 다양한 메타포를 이용하여 표현한 비판적인 일러스트레이션이다.

They are plutocrat behind curtain who wield absolute power called currency.
They have the right of publication of currency and the right of adjustment of interest rate.
They exert strong influence to all areas base on these power.
This work is critical illustration that is represented economically active workers’s situations and behaviors as various metaphor.

마작은 아직 한국에서는 생소한 게임이다.
가까운 나라 중국과 일본에서는 널리 사랑받고 있는 게임임에도 불구하고, 한국에서 바라보는 마작은 즐거운 게임이라기보다는 도박 쪽에 가깝다.
마작은 사실 참 즐겁고 유쾌한 게임이다. 어려운 룰이 마작을 배우는 데 걸림돌이 되지만, 한 번 맛을 보면 빠져 나오기 힘든 재미가 있다.

기존의 이태원은 어둡고, 부정적인 이미지를 많이 가지고있어

그러나 알고보면 다양한 매력과 무한한 가능성을 가진 ‘한국속의 세계’이태원.
작품 제목 ‘only itaeone’은 오직 이태원만이 다양한 매력을 동시에 가진 유일한 공간임을 의미합니다.
또한 이러한 이태원의 매력을 4가지 컨셉으로 정리하고 그 컨셉과 목적에 맞는 지도를 만들었습니다.
컬러별로 구분된 4가지 스토리에 따라 사용자는 원하는 spot의 정보를 마우스를 갖다대어 확인 할 수 있습니다.

이태원은 한국사람, 외국사람 모두에게 다양한 매력을 가진 더할나위 없이 멋진 장소로 새롭게 인식될 것입니다.

“Only Itaeone” is a place branding that I created for Itaewon’s new identity.

Itaewon, today, has an image of darkness and negativity so that it is limited for Koreans to enjoy enough.
However, Itaewon is “a worl within Korea” that has inifinite possibilities and various charms.
The work title “Only Itaeone” means that only Itaeone is the only place that has varieties of characteristics.
Also I organized 4 concepts of Itaewon’s characteristic and made a map of its concept and purpose.
According to 4 distinguished stories divided by different colors, users may check by placing the mouce over a spot where they want or choose.

Itaewon will be newly recognized as a cool place to hang out for both Koreans and foreigners.

우리는 모두 이름을 갖고 살아간다. 평생 쓰게 될 나의 이름을 누군가가 정해준 채로.
이름은 큰 힘을 갖고 있다.
이름만으로 한 사람뿐만 아니라 한 시대를 이야기 할 수 있고,
우리가 죽고 난 뒤에 실체가 사라지더라도 이름만은 남아서 우리를 세상에 남겨준다.
사람들이 살아가는 궁극적인 원동력이 나의 이름을 가치 있게 만들고 싶어서가 아닐까.
이름만으로도 사람이 사는 모습을 보여주고 싶다.

All of us live with names, by which we are called and identified for our whole life, which are created by somebody else.
Names have strong power.
Names reflect not only an individual’s life, but also an entire era or generation of this person.
Names live forever , after we die and disappear.
Isn’t “an aspiration for a valuable and memorable name” a fundamental driver for people to live?
I want to show you how people lead their lives by focusing on “names”.

사물의 상징(꽹과리-번개,징-바람,장구-비,북-구름), 실제 풍물패의 의상과 동작, 공연의
진행과정들을 동일하게 적용하여 관람자가 마치 실제 공연을 보는듯한 흥겨움을 느낄수 있도록 했다.

갓 아문 상처에서 이따금씩 통증이 느껴질 때가 있다.
살갗이 아니라 살 속이 아프다. 날카로운 그 무언가가 살 속에 들어있는 느낌이다.
겉은 나았지만 속은 그 상태를 알 수 없다. 한 번 입은 상처는 흔적을 남기고, 그 아픔은 생각보다 오래간다.

아동 성폭력은 치유할 수 없는 상처를 남긴다. 눈으로는 상처의 깊이를 가늠할 수 없다.
다 나은 것처럼 보여도 속은 곪고, 아픔은 여전히 남아있으며, 아픔이 지나간 자리에는 또다시 아픔의 새끼들이 자라난다.
푸딩은 이렇게 상처를 안고 있다. 그 상처마저도 푸딩의 일부분이 되었다. 그 상처를 제거하기 위해 여린 살을 찢으려 할 수도 있다.
하지만 그러면 그 여린 살이 다시는 회복할 수 없을지도 모른다.

좁은 삼각형의 부엌, 양변기 위로만 대각선으로 떨어진 천장,
의외의 곳에, 필요와는 상관없이 공간을 파고드는 각은
설계의 허술함, 공사 수준의 저급함으로 볼 수도 있겠지만
‘괜찮은’ 집을 짓고 난 뒤 남은 공간에
어떻게든 팔수 있는 공간을 만들어 내기 위한 고심의 흔적이기도 하다.
그렇게 만들어진 덜 된듯 독특한 공간은 매일 새로운 방의 인상을 제공한다.

혼자 살기 시작한 뒤 6년간 ‘후진’집에서 살아왔던 나에게
원룸은 가끔 지리멸렬하기까지한 공간이 되었다.
그래도 당분간은 벗어날 길이 없어보이는,
그리고 엄연히 지금까지 형성된 나의 일부를 분명히 차지하고 있을
이 곳에 대한 새로운 해석이 필요하다.
원룸의 형태와 원룸에 사는 사람의 삶의 모습의 공통점을 찾아 공간을 재구성하려했다.

기도는 나와 다른 영혼을 연결시키는 마음-줄이다.
만일 우리가 어떠한 사람을 아주 많이 사랑한다면, 우리 힘으로 그들에게 줄 수 있는 것 이상으로 더 많은 것들을 주고 싶어할 것이다.
그래서 우리는 기도하게 된다. 중보 기도야 말로 다른 사람들을 사랑하는 방법이기 때문이다.
간구에서 중보로 기도를 바꾸는 것은 우리의 무게 중심을 우리 자신의 필요에서 다른 사람들의 필요와 관심사로 옮기는 것이다.
중보 기도는 이기심이 없는 기도이며, 심지어 자신을 내어주는 기도이다.
어떠한 사랑의 행동들 보다 묵묵히 다른 이를 가슴에 담고 그를 위하여 기도하는 것이야말로 가장 인간으로서 창조주의 마음을 닮아있다는 생각이 들었다.
이 세계를 지으시고 나를 만드신 그 분의 마음을 알아가고, 닮아가고자 하는 인간의 본성이자 소망인 것이다. .
이 연약한 빛을 가진 이미지를 통해 빛을 잃고 스러져 가는 누군가의 영혼이, 다시금 사랑의 빛을 꿈꿀 수 있게 된다면,

나는 그렇지 않다는 것을 보여주기 위해 성경 속에서 몇 개의 이야기들을 꺼냈다.
성경에서 중요한 역할을 하는 이 여자들의 이야기는 단순하지도, 지루하지도 않다.
이 일러스트들은 여자와 여자의 기묘한 이야기들을 함축하고 있다.

Some people have prejudices against a bible which are that bible might be boring.
I brought few stories up for this kind of people to show that’s not true.
These women who play a leading role in the bible’ stories are not just simple or boring.

그 결과 지구는 뜨거워지고 있고 태풍, 지진등 자연재해가 급격히 빈번해지고 있으며, 생태계 혼란의 문제까지 야기시키고 있다.

언제부터 이런 인위적 지구 온난화 문제가 시작되었으며, 또 인류는 어떤 노력들을 해왔나.

본 프로젝트는 시대적 변화에 따라서 서구적 시각에서 다루어진 학문의 영역을
동양적 시각으로 확대,재편성하여 개인에 대한 분석을 통하여”나”를 알아가고
그 정보와 지식을 통하여 개인에게 보다 풍요로운 삶을 지향할 수 있는 근거를
마련하고자 하는 것이 연구의 초기 목적이었다.

도가사상을 근간으로 한 음양오행적 관점으로 본 인간 개개인에 대한 연구를 정보디
자인적 측면에서 서구학문의 과학적인 면에서 볼 때 기호학과 연관지을 수 있는데,
그 이유는 기호학이 개인의 감성적 특성을 가장 잘 나타낼 수 있는 학문이고 그에
대한 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔던 분야이기도 하기 때문이다.

이러한 사실로 도가사상의 음양오행과 기호학을 바탕으로 하여 개인을 위한 코드를
도출함으로써 개인에게 정보 전달 및 아이덴티티 표현에 있어서의 극대화를 이룰 수
있는 초석이 될 것이라는 확산으로 본 프로젝트을 접근하게 되었다.

음양오행 원리를 바탕으로 사람들의 생년월일시를 분석하고 개인 음양오행표를 도출한다.
인간이 가지고 있는 본성(선천적 원소) 과 후천적원소 (보충한 원소)제시하여
개인에게 맞는 Y5-CODE를 만든다.

또한 Y5-CODE를 통하여 개인에 좋아하는 원소들 찾아내고
개인에게 가장 맞는 디자인 또 서비스 선택한다.

잠들기 전 아이와 부모가 함께 보기 좋은 그림책이다.

페이지마다 모두 다른 얘기가 있지만 결국엔 하나의 얘기로 묶이는 구성으로 되어있다.
이 그림책에서 종이 한장한장은 단순히 텍스트를 전달하는 도구 이상의 의미를 가진다.
그러므로 반드시 책이라는 형식을 통해서만 완전히 이해되고 하나의 놀이가 될 수 있는 책이다.

이 책은 어떤 것이든 이불을 덮어주고 함께 잠을 청하는 어린아이의 순수함에서 시작된 이야기이다.
독자는 잠이 든 주인공들을 만나고 페이지를 넘길때마다 직접 이불을 덮어줄 수 있다. 한장의 종이는 이불이 되고,
다음장으로 넘기는 행위는 잠든 주인공에게 이불을 덮어주는 행위가 된다.

아이들이 잠이 든 주인공들에게 하나하나 이불을 덮어주면서 자신도 모르게 깊은 잠에 빠져들기를 기대해본다.

This is a bedtime story for kids and parents.

Each page tells different stories, but in the end it all comes together.
In this book, each page carries more than just the text.
Through a medium of book, it could be understood as a whole and become something playful.

This story is inspired by the innocent mind of a child who wishes to tuck others in to bed.
Readers can meet the characters who wish to go to sleep, and when they turn over the page,
the page becomes a blanket for those characters they are leaving behind the pages.

I hope the kids enjoy falling a sleep by tucking other charters in bed, one by one.

제품 탄생 배경

막걸리(makgeolli) 뉴 프로덕트개발의 일환으로 한국에도 일본의 사케처럼
일부 지방에서 막걸리를 데워먹는 문화가 있다는 것에 착안, 따뜻한 막걸리를
제품으로 만듦과 동시에 대중화된 막걸리에 시원함을 더 강조한 살얼음이 나오는
막걸리를 함께 출시하게 되었다. 제품의 이름은 막걸리의 다른 이름인 ‘탁주’에서
따와 온탁, 냉탁으로 정했다.

커뮤니케이션 방법

따뜻함과 차가움이라는 극과 극의 막걸리를 광고하기 위해서 사람의 ‘마음’을
메타포로 잡았다. 사람의 감정, 즉 차가운 가슴을 녹이고, 뜨거운 가슴을 식히는
막걸리로서, 이를 효과적으로 표현하는 데는 과장된 감정의 표현과 말투가
드러나는 6-70년대의 한국영화가 적합하다고 판단하였다. 실사 이미지보다는
로이 리히텐슈타인 스타일의 단순한 카툰 이미지로 한국 배우들을 다소 재밌게
표현하여 기존의 막걸리브랜드들의 일률적인 고급화와 확연히 차별되는 방법을 통해
커뮤니케이션하고자 하였다.

Product Creation Background

The name of this product is ONTAK/NENGTAK. The name of this milky, bitter
and sweet finishing flavor Korean rice wine was derived from Takju,
another name for Makgeolli. It comes in a set of two types of Makgeolli.
These two types are warm Korean rice wine and icy cold slushy Korean rice wine.
ONTAK is especially inspired from some Korean regional cultures that people
heat Makgeolli before serving.

Concept

As the product’s advertisement concept, a ‘Heart’ of a person is used to
show the contrary between the warmth and chilliness of Makgeolli.
ONTAK, a hot Makgeolli, can warm up one’s cold heart while Nengtak can
soothe one’s burning heart. Exaggerated speaking tone and expression techniques
adapted from old Korean movies in the 1960s and 70s are perfect to deliver
the concept effectively. A cartoon that reminds us of Roy Lichtenstein’s works
adds humor to actors and differentiates this Makgeolli from other brands that
focus on a prestige concept.

<마닐아토>는 젊은 한식 디저트로써의 ‘떡’브랜드이다.

<마닐아토>는 ‘음식이 부드럽고 말랑말랑하다’라는 뜻의
순 우리말인 ‘마닐마닐하다’ 와 ‘선물’을 뜻하는 순 우리말인
‘아토’를 결합하여 만든 합성어로써 ‘부드러운 선물’ 이라는 뜻이다.

선물의 상징이 되는 리본모양을 디자인 컨셉으로 하여
브랜드 자체 컨셉인 ‘부드러운 선물’의 성격을 잘 보여주도록 했다.

By compounding those two words it produces a new meaning of ‘soft and tender present’.
The main design concept is the ‘ribbon’ which represent present and
it will shows the characteristics (-the soft and tender present) appropriately.
